The Dapper Guys from the men’s style site TheDapperStyle.com have been shooting around the city. Locals like Ben Witte, Woodhouse Ford, and Nick Weander, Olsen Associates, have been caught by the camera. Even out of town dapper men Clay Dirickson and Kyle Kornowski have been to Omaha.

Omaha Upcoming

Heads up on some new venues in the Omaha metro which are under construction.

Au Courant will be in the Benson District. It will be a farm to table regional kitchen. I had the chance to try some dishes at their pop up and they were very good. I look forward to visiting the space.

java daddies omaha[Now Open] The duo that owns The Diner (which has lines out the door on the weekends) are extending their hours with a food truck style patio, Java Daddies, that will be open until 10 pm. It will serve wine and beer along with small plates. The owner told me the menu will change daily but there will be 3 savory choices and 3 sweet choices. Guests can grab-and-go or sit and relax.

Omaha Snacks

Sometimes I’m out and just want a snack. These are some of the top flavor finds so far.

The Beet Chips at Wilson & Washburn are a unique salty snack. Don’t be scared by the beet. These are worth it.

The Scotch Egg at Wilson is also a good choice. A tasty snack or start to a meal.

I think the Pretzel Bites at Grane in Midtown are very good. There are a lot in town but I like these the best.

You have to try Duck Duck Goose Fries at Block 16. Duck Confit on top of crispy fried goodness.

I had a Maple Butter Bacon Cinnamon Roll at Farnham House Brewery that was really good.

If you are in the mood for some guac and chips I highly recommend the guacamole at Mula in the Blackstone District. My favorite version of the day is the Parilla.

I will also add Samosas from Himalayas in the Old Market. A tasty small flavor bomb.

Late Night? Everyone needs to try the Rounders from the Locomotive Food Truck in Old Market. My top picks are Pork Carnitas and Herb Egg.

Omaha Burgers

IMG_6863A well crafted burger is an amazing find. I was on a search around Omaha and the Old Market to find that burger. It has to have flavor in a thick beef patty, a bun that doesn’t end up mushy and options to make it your own. You can read all my reviews on Yelp.

The best burger in the Old Market is definitely the Tavern Burger at Jackson Street Tavern. The flavor was very good and the bun held up to the contents. The venue isn’t my favorite but burgers seem hard to find in the Market.

The overall best burger and venue is experience has to be Nite Owl. The space is funky cool and they have Tots! I had the Nite Owl burger and the patty was thick and the bun was great. This has to be on your burger list.

Wilson & Washburn has a very good burger just like everything on their menu. They have the beer selection to pair with it. Their housemade thick cut chips are excellent.

Benson Brewery is also a top mention with an extensive craft beer selection to make it a stellar meal. The venue and extensive menu always make this a top selection.

Omaha Tap House was disappointing for a place that says they are known for their burgers. The patty was flat and not great. They do have a lot of options and creative burgers but for me it starts with the meat.

What are your suggestions? Block 16? Billy Frogs? Crescent Moon?
